Wild Food rambles
These classes will be foraging hikes where we will be outside looking at, identifying, tasting and in some cases actually harvesting wild foods. Dress for the weather (rain or shine) and bring whatever you need to be comfortable: water, bug spray, boots, rain gear, etc.

Are you looking for economic ways to feed yourself and your family healthy food that actually tastes good? Come and learn how to use some common backyard ‘weeds’ to make delicious and super-nutritious dishes for your family. No hiking or mosquito spray required – Tanna will bring a nice selection of freshly harvested Wild Foods to work with. This fun, interactive class will include some plant identification, group cooking/food preparation and a satisfying Wild Food dish to enjoy together. Tanna (aka ‘The Friendly Forager’) has been eating Wild Foods for many years and loves empowering people with knowledge that takes the fear out of foraging.

Maybe you’ve tried some, or maybe you’ve been too timid to try this weirdly fermented drink. Come get up close and personal with your own SCOBY, and start brewing your own tasty, delicious, nutritious beverage! Instructor Tanna Worrell is a Wild Food enthusiast, so besides ‘regular’ brewing, she will show you how to incorporate wild-crafted components into your brew. We’ll be sampling several yummy Kombucha flavors and types. Please bring a pint jar with a tight-fitting lid to bring your starter kit home with you.
